We are pleased to announce new principals at eight JPS schools for the 2025-2026 school year. They all bring years of experience and outstanding accomplishments to the schools they will serve in the new year.
JPS announced the valedictorians and salutatorians of the class of 2025 at its annual Salute to Scholars program held May 19, 2025. They were recognized for their outstanding academic performance and other factors.
Jackson Public Schools celebrated the inaugural cohort of graduates of the Jackson Middle College. While completing their high school graduation requirements, these future educators also completed significant coursework toward their undergraduate degrees in mathematics education.
Murrah High School senior Kristen Celeste Rhodes has been awarded a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship. She is one of 2,500 recipients chosen nationwide through a highly selective qualifying process that considers academics, service and leadership activities of honorees.
Children ages 18 and younger will be able to have breakfast and lunch meals at no cost throughout the month of June. The program will be offered at 12 JPS schools.
Jackson Public Schools honors the more than 60 beloved members of the JPS family who will be parting through retirement by the end of the school year. While they will be missed, we wish them well in their future endeavors.
JPS is honored to celebrate teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5-9, 2025. In doing so, we take this opportunity to recognize the 2025 school Teachers of the Year.
